Client : Atelier Mizuagé™ is a creative house, gathering designers desirous to create holistic ideas and concepts. Creative collaborations between thinkers, designers from various fields : interaction, interior, industry, graphics, etc… and various locations ( China, France, Korea, Japan, Netherlands,…). From the Japanese meaning 水揚げ, literally “hoisting from water”, Mizuage was a ceremony undergone by a Japanese maiko (apprentice geisha) to signify her coming of age. Atelier Mizuagé™ express evolution, with which ideas coming true.

Work : Roots are the base, our planting. “Embranchement” ( junction ) expresses this idea : a simple top board supported by a complex leg structure. The table is composed by woodcuts assembled and painted.

Client : Specialising in welcome gifts for babies, the Salmon Arc en Ciel group designs, perfects, manufactures and sells a coordinated and affectionate range of day and nightwear for newborns and children up to 8 years of age, together with bedding, child care and bathing items, comforters, toys and gift boxes.

Work : A design collaboration for working on a new packaging concept around their key product the soft toy. This “doudou” is basically bought in supermarket and offered for birth. Combining a protective gift pocket in the same packaging with the friendliness of allowing people to touch it. The item reduces plastic for being eco-friendly. “Papillote” ( paper wrapped candy ) is one solution, based its simplicity and cost effectiveness but also fitting to all the constraints.

Client : Frédéric Scailteur is a Maître chocolatier/patissier in Tokyo. He opened in 2006 his first chocolate shop in Tokyo. The essence of gourmet can typically be embodied by dark colors in their environment. The patisserie of Belgian Frederic Scailteur however, uses light pastels. “I didn’t want my environment to look like all the others,” Scailteur says. “I wanted to use the colors of nature to represent the fact that I use 100-percent natural products.” The result is a mix of chocolate mousse and caramel crème brulée, with a sesame-almond nougat base, garnished with edible gold leaf.

Work : Natural, smooth and peaceful were the keywords from the brief. Communication is the most important, portrayed by : brown wall seats, green bands on the wall, warm ground for translating a homely feeling.

Work : Why do so many home appliances have the same shape? Stable, cubic, massive or sometimes very small. “Sweet Home Appliances” was a conceptual workshop for redefining functions and aspects for basic and boring appliances. A cd player inspired by a bowl and using a traditional Chinese fabric instead of an insensitive black one for covering the speakers. A projector inspired by a stone which suggests through its unconventional shape, to be inclined in certain way. A pebble weathered station with a silicone casing, is a tactful caress for giving its informations. An aesthetic mobile Wifi Radio based on basket aspects : ergonomic handle coming along a fined speaker pattern.

The Eg100 is a lot inspired by a traditional electronic watch, but the colors and the shapes are well though according to the targeted user : fresh and sweet shape, with round lines and various color arrangements. The wristband, in soft silicone, contains the pen for the touch screen. The keyboard is back lighted for using every time.

Client : Feiyue { féyué } : In English Feiyue = Flying forward. According to Chinese traditions, FEIYUE symbolizes the dual elevation of both body and mind. Originating in Shanghai, the Feiyue™ sneaker first appeared in the 1920s. This small shoe made of light material, that has guided the paths of all social classes in China, has crossed continents, arriving in Europe in 2006, where it was picked up by a team of French enthusiasts, fascinated by sneakers and urban culture. Considerable work has been conducted on improving quality standards: with a complete revision of the original form and more carefully selected materials, the resulting shoe combines aesthetics with durability.

Work : A design collaboration for customizing a Feiyue™ shoes. The Pouss-Pouss concept was inspired by the idea of ” how to play with the harigata logotype ?”. The team was, so far most of the members are in Asia, interested by an ancient game : the “pouss-pouss”. Fresh and trendy colors are utilized for “finishing” the concept.

Thierry Bouville, creator, provided several modern uniforms adopted by the international chef scene. Today, Clément™ enjoys a good reputation and appears as the reference in the field. building on its success, Clément™ has a new challenge: revolutionizing food service uniforms by creating an original and trendy range which offers a multitude of choices that will sublimate its image.

Work : Based on this strong philosophy and approach, Clément™ and the Harigata Design Consultancy collaborated for imagining the next step of this uniform. Currently the cook field, coming from the restaurant architecture evolution, is suffering changes. The status of the chef and the cook are evolving : appearance, functions. According to this environmental and status evolution, what could be the next generation uniform? ItaMae, based on the Japanese restaurant environment, is one solution of the new chef constraints : cleanliness, aestheticism, multi services, etc… ItaMae is a super-functional uniform allowing the chef to be clean all day long, controlling the sweating and protecting from the violent aggressions in kitchen.

Work : The logotype and the image had to represent the Frédéric Scailteur’ values and his environment. The symbol should translate the smooth consistency of the chocolate. Work : PandaStar is a simple and aesthetic mobile electronic device. Fit for teenagers, the design is simple and basically white. The colorful band in silicon proposes various ways to customise your device in orange, blue, green or yellow. You can carry it around your neck instead of your bag or pocket, with a sweat neckband. Inside, PandaStar allows to listen music, play electronic games, watch movies, go on internet, etc…

Work : The curved shape was inspired from cut pebble texture for the Mexican telecom provider. In order to intensify the cut feeling, the phone contrasts with a translucent and glossy front panel
behind a matte and soft rubber back.

Work : Basically in studio, movie offices where elements are dark, technical and practical. The Video Controller X3 from Sobey is an adequate addition to the environment : a dark translucent front panel where all information stems from. The two main massive keys in aluminium are the two only elements going out the front panel.

Work : When ActeDeco® met the Harigata Design Consultancy, the brief was clear : how to increase the sales from the website ? After analysing the company environment, the clients, and doing workshops, the simulator idea came up naturally. A simulator showing the various stickers of the collection and allowing the user to create and compose his on decoration in real time. The global design of the website surrounds smoothly the simulator with fresh and minimal colors. Through this online tool, we can understand and see clearly their potential decoration. After a few weeks and with this online simulator, sales have been increased greatly.

Client : Gérard Poupineau is a wine-grower in north west of France. His wine-producing domain is surrounded by gorgeous vineyards. His passion for wine was inspired by his dad and since he was a kid he has been cultivating vines. After his hard work, his wine has a good reputation and is known for its particular taste.

Work : After composing the Gérard Poupineau logotype, the Harigata Design Consultancy worked on the wine pack. Would it be a simple label? Not at all. This piece of paper has to convince, in a certain way, the potential and untrained buyer. How can we seduce him and push him for taking the bottle ? In order to succeed the design must represent the Gérard Poupineau spirit ? The Harigata Design team went for something simple but noble. Using the vine aspect and adapting it to the only graphical element of the label : the font. There are three colors representing three various types.

Work : After couples of days for getting inspiration in the Thierry Amirault vineyard and domain, the priority of the Harigata Design Consultancy was to refresh the image. A contrast with a simple and contemporary logotype combining a traditional font. Thierry Amirault from this moment will be an “winegrower artisan” for emphasizing his impact.

Work : The wine field in France suffers a lot from its tradition : the design label is a hard element to change, but is also the most important point ! The half of wine consumers buy bottles from the name area and the label. Because of this, the wine has to be more intimate. The two main wines from Thierry Amirault changed name : “l’Audacieux” ( the Audacious ) and “le Virtuose” ( the Virtuoso ). On each bottle, a back label introduce the Thierry Amirault spirit, as a know-how testimony.

Work : Seducing young users to wear a phone on their wrist is a powerful concept. The Eg C could be the solution. A trendy accessory, using a soft and colourful silicon inside the wristband contrasting with the “cold” glossy outer cover. A beetle concept expressing different layers superposing on the wrist. The body phone is movable from a wristband, for a better usage.
