Client : The kitchen uniforms did not change for the last century : heavy jacket in cotton, fat cut, ridiculous colors and shapes. Every chef and cook were have complained. Thierry Bouville, creator, provided several modern uniforms adopted by the international chef scene. Today, Clément™ enjoys a good reputation and appears as the reference in the field. building on its success, Clément™ has a new challenge: revolutionizing food service uniforms by creating an original and trendy range which offers a multitude of choices that will sublimate its image.

Work : Based on this strong philosophy and approach, Clément™ and the Harigata Design Consultancy collaborated for imagining the next step of this uniform. Currently the cook field, coming from the restaurant architecture evolution, is suffering changes. The status of the chef and the cook are evolving : appearance, functions. According to this environmental and status evolution, what could be the next generation uniform? ItaMae, based on the Japanese restaurant environment, is one solution of the new chef constraints : cleanliness, aestheticism, multi services, etc… ItaMae is a super-functional uniform allowing the chef to be clean all day long, controlling the sweating and protecting from the violent aggressions in kitchen.
